We are delighted to welcome six new artists to Künstler:innenhaus Bremen: In June and July, the first four had already moved into their new studios in Bremen’s Neustadt district—with two more to follow in September.

Dorsa Eidizadeh studied at Hochschule für Künste Bremen (HfK) and graduated in 2024 as Meisterschülerin under Andree Korpys and Markus Löffler. In her artistic practice, she works with installation, text, and spatial formats. She explores collective memory and questions of access, pursuing a speculative approach to reshaping the future. In 2025, she received the Bremen Young Talents Award for the Visual Arts.

Eghbal Joudi first studied sculpture at Tehran University of Art and then fine arts under Heike Kati Barath at the HfK Bremen. In 2026, he completed his Meisterschüler under Natascha Sadr Haghighian. His artistic practice evolves from an engagement with historical material—events, images, and fragments that serve as evidence for historical contexts. It focuses on what cannot be verified and remains on the margins of the visible.

“Soon I’ll be joining the K:H community for the next five years. To take my first steps after graduation—the hardest ones—within a community of fellow artists is a great privilege. I’m looking forward to everything that lies ahead.”

Julija Paškevičiūtė graduated from HfK Bremen in 2020 as a Meisterschülerin under Natascha Sadr Haghighian. From 2024 to 2025, she was a fellow at the Künstlerstätte Heiligenrode-Stuhr, where she prepared her first solo exhibition, Similar-Ähnlich, and published her first catalog, In Case of not Knowing. Her practice encompasses landscape-like installations that explore temporary spaces, collaborative processes, and shared experiences.

“It’s lovely, and honestly a big privilege, to arrive at what feels like a home for my artistic practice, somewhere to settle in for longer than any temporary project space or residency allowed. There’s something exceptionally interesting about working where art has already been made for a long time. Recently I remembered myself as an art student when working here felt more like a wish than a possibility - something other artists got to participate in. It means something to find myself here now. Grateful and curious to see what may unfold in the next 5 years.”

behshad tajammol studied sculpture at Tehran University of Art and subsequently completed her studies in fine arts at the HfK Bremen, where she graduated from the Meisterschüler:innen Program in 2023. Her practice operates at the intersection of sociopolitical structures, language, and lived realities. Her work focuses on the political dimensions of language, voice, and memory, as well as the processes of personal and collective memory formation.

Yoriko Seto completed her studies in 2024 as a Meisterschülerin under Heike Kati Barath at the HfK Bremen. The following year, she received the Bremen Studio Grant for Bremen-based visual artists from the Senator for Culture at Künstler:innenhaus Bremen. Her process-oriented and experimental practice encompasses drawing, animation, installation, and artist books.

“For me, the Künstler:innenhaus is an ideal place to develop and realize my ideas. Interacting with other people inspires me, and I really appreciate the opportunity to drop by spontaneously and continue working.”

Ul Seo studied at the HfK Bremen and graduated as a Meisterschüler in 2022 under Natascha Sadr Haghighian and Wendelien van Oldenborgh. In his artistic practice, he explores the “invisible architectures” of society—latent rules and systemic structures that shape thought and action. Through conceptual and painterly works, he makes these hidden mechanisms visible and views his practice as a form of “participant observation”.

“A new studio always brings new inspiration for artistic practice. I’m looking forward to the creative energy in the building and the inspiring exchange with my colleagues.”

An independent external jury of experts decides on the allocation of studios at the Künstler:innenhaus Bremen. This year’s jury consists of Viktor Hömpler (curator, Haus Coburg Delmenhorst), Katrin von Maltzahn (professor of drawing and painting, University of the Arts Bremen) and Sibylle Springer (artist).
