wildwuchs: Growing together with nature and art
Our new educational program, wildwuchs, launched successfully at the Künstler:innenhaus Bremen in early May—and the first groups of children are already getting right into the action: raised beds have been built, soil prepared, and the first plants set in place. The dye garden in the courtyard is beginning to grow.
A garden as a place for learning and creativity
wildwuchs is aimed at children ages 4 to 12 and runs from spring through winter 2026. Together with art educator Katrin Seithel, we combine artistic practice with environmental and science education. At the heart of the project is a dye garden featuring plants from which dyes can be extracted—a time-honored tradition that has taken on new significance today in the context of sustainability and conscious consumption.
From the Garden Bed to the Studio
The children not only sow, plant, and tend to the garden—they also observe, document, and artistically process their harvest..
